Dialing in more bite or top end on SR

I'm trying to dial in my new amp and I'm confused as to how the tone controls are setup. Seems if I want to add upper mids or topend, i have to turn the Treble control down? And even then the amp doesn't get much brighter. I've read on the forum some commenting that a Splawn tone control set at noon, is like a normal amp tone control dimed?? Just kind of confused, I've been trying to let my ears lead me but a good explanation on how the tone stack is designed might be useful.

that's funny I have the exact opposite problem with my QR, heh heh, maybe I need a Street Rod. I think you get more and quicker answers on the Splawn facebook page, or just Call Scott.
