digging thru my old gear, found my rocktron intellifex, thought I sold it way back. Mee likeeee this, with volume level at the input and output, very usable fx unit. The only problem is the volume knobs are very scratchy. Is there any way to clean the pots.

I love Rocktron gear... I have a Replifex, a Loop-8 switcher and a Midi Mate controller. I used to have an Intellifex unit and sold it to pay for the Replifex. At the time, I'd had the Intellifex for many years and once in a while one of the knobs did the same thing you describe. Our bass player at the time was an electrical engineer and offered to fix it for me. I didn't watch him do it, but while he still had it apart he showed me how the pots were connected to the board and how he used contact cleaner to clean them... problem solved. Now, like I said... I didn't watch him take it apart or put it back together, but It didn't look like it would've been all that difficult. But I think if you really want to clean 'em right and fix the problem, you'll probably have to get it out of the enclosure. Because my bud fixed mine, I was able to sell it in "excellent condition" and got more for it than I probably would have otherwise. Good luck!

They're actually pretty similar. In fact... they're identical in terms of layout and functionality. I think Rocktron just made the Replifex sound a little warmer to replicate the effect you might get if running pedals in the loop instead of a digital processor. You could probably accomplish the same effect or similar by adjusting the EQ on the Intellifex. Other than that, all they did was include some presets that were designed to sound like some popular stomp boxes (Phase 90, etc.)
