Nitro pre amp tubes

Hi,

New to the forum from Australia, recently picked up a Nitro and want to replace the pre-amp tubes. I like my down tuned heavier stuff and was wondering if anyone has some pre-amp tubes suggestions, it's running EL34's in the power section.

Some NOS preamp tubes are where it is at but barring that I've been pretty happy with JJ's just about everywhere in all kinds of amps.

If you are feeling a bit more experimental then maybe get one Tung Sol or RCA and then a JAN Phillips 5751 for your phase inverter. Not sure what is available down under.

Thanks for the advice mate, I can get most tubes sent to me so that's not an issue. Also do these Splawns generally have a hum from the head whilst in standby?
