Man the Splawn forums are booming.. Yea, everyone loves the tone of their amps so much, they can't get to their computers! I have never had a Duratex cab, not even sure exactly what that stuff looks like.

It's spray on stuff like a truck bed liner but from what I've heard the Splawn guys have some nice way of applying it and almost looks like tolex. It's similar to the coating on like old Peavey PA speakers. As long and I can get checkerboard grill cloth and that there's no tonal change, I think I'm gonna order a cab soon.

Oh yea, that OLD coatings on Peavey cabs. I remember them from when I was a kid. I personally would pass on that. Scott's choices in tolex and the fine work they do would have me choosing that instead of the spray on stuff.

I recently ordered a Duratex 4 x 12. It matches my Tolex covered head beautifully. It sounds spectacular. You won't be disappointed in the quality or the looks of the Duratex. There is a picture of mine in the pictures section, here is a close-up picture of it and the Tolex covered head (click picture to enlarge). Hope that helps.

cool thats nice. And probably don't have to worry about tolex rips. I'm thinking of getting a Splawn 4x12 with Greenbacks toloex or duratex, or a regular Marshall 4x12 GB. I've gotta have checkerboard grill cloth though, I've never been much on looks, but a splawn 4x12 with checkerboard cloth looks so killer with my Plexi black-white QR head. Thanks for the pic Bac425!!
