Hi, here is Maurizio from Italy. Just bought from ebay a great 2012 Super Stock head. It plays great. I have only an answer: did you experience the need to push solo volume very up respect master volume of the amp? I'm playng in half power, with fx loop engaged and a Visual Sound H2O pedal (buffered pedal for chorus and delay) in the loop. Did you ever felt the need to use an external boost to push solo volume? We play classic to 80's hairy rock. Thanks Maurizio

As you increase your gain channel master volume, particularly as you get past about 9:30 - 10 o'clock, the available volume boost in the solo boost mode begins to decrease and you have to push the solo boost volume pretty. at least this is the case for my Quick Rod. Basically, there's not much more volume left in the amp. If you get the gain channel master past about 11 o'clock you'll probably notice there's effectively zero volume boost in the solo boost mode no matter how far you turn it up. If you have the loop volume on your amp, try turning that up and the channel master down to around 9 o'clock and you should find your volume boost in solo mode has returned.

That is exactly my experience. Someone have tried with an external clean boost in the loop (MXR microamp or something of this kind)?

Problem solved. I put MXR Microamp last in fx loop, after chorus/delay, and it made explode my house roof. No more solo boost via footswitch, only MXR.
