Ok, so i have noticed that when my effects loop is turned on, my Super Comp volume goes in and out, when it is off, then everything is fine, i like it on but i dont use the loop volume, when it is on, it seems to add a bit of sparkle on the top end. I also had a tube failure this weekend and of course it took my HT fuse. I put a new quad of tubes in, checked the bias, and she sounds fine, but still have the loop issue intermittently, cant imagine the tube failure and loop issue are connected, but stranger things have happened to me for sure. I have a fair bit of amp knowledge as far as repair and modding goes, i am able to handle recapping, biasing etc., but this has me a bit stumped. I will contact Scott and see if i can get a new loop board to install in the amp.

do you have anything in the loop when its engaged? Maybe even a patch cable if your not actually running cables through it? I know when I tried to run the loop on my SR with nothing running through it I experienced the same problem, but as soon as i patch the loop are put my pedals back in it, its gone.

Yea man, def need something in the loop if your gonna used the loop volume, even if its a patch cable. Your problem will be solved. I run a reverb and a delay in my loop all the time but I remember I took my amp to guitar center one time to try out some new guitars and didnt take the pedals with me (too much to carry). I turned the amp on and it started doing what you described, i was like WTF, no way my brand new amp is messing up!! Threw a patch cable in the loop and problem solved.

I had 2 quick rods, and a pro stock. I didn't have to use a patch cable in the loop. The sr I just got u have to use a patch cable in the loop if your not using it to get the loop volume to work.downfall of the street rod??
