OK, I know what all gears mean...do you guys find you use all 3? Especially with an od1 and od 2 for each gear?
The Super Sport is a gear short....just curious if this is smothing to consider between the two amps.

I never use gear three at gigs. I pretty much sit in gear two all night, except for about three or four songs.
I would LOVE a Supersport - the fact it has only 2 gears wouldn't stop me at all. The fact that it does not have a solo boost stops me, though. I use my solo boost all gig long - its my single favorite feature of both my Splawns. I would do away with the entire clean channel if it meant I could have a solo boost on that amp.

I don't think you'll miss Gear 3.
The tone differences are mainly between Gear 1 and Gear 2.

I have used Gear three like four times in 6+ years? In fact, I don't even use Gear 2 much these days. Gear one with a boost works for versatility but if you just want to use amp gain w/ no boost Gear 2 all night. Gear 3 is a bit much.

I am borrowing my friend's Quick Rod and plan to get a Street Rod and I use Gear 3 a ton! When we cover Metallica, Godsmack, a Megadeth song, and a few Creed songs, I like to use Gear 3 for sure! Love it, seems darker too!

I never use gear 3 live but once in awhile I use it at home. It's cool but I get all the gain I could ever need on gear 2 gain at noon. I do switch between gear 1 and 2 live though, love the difference for classic aerosmith or modern aic with just a click.
