Hot. 2004 is just before the Standards went crazy, isn't it? I got my first Gibson a few months ago, an old Standard, and it's taken over from everything else. It sounds and feels so good.

Im not sure what year Standards changed, but I seem to remember 2008 had lots of updates. Some good, some not so good. The 2012 Standards were updated as well, and are very nice from what Ive seen.

The 2012 Standards were updated as well, and are very nice from what Ive seen. I have one of the 2008 models. Ironically, mine is a 2011 2008. haha Supposedly the last 2008 model they made. The "2008" models have the locking keys, Tone pros bridge and tailpiece, neutrik jack. Good stuff! They also have the circuit boards inside which is not so good. That axe above is gorgeous! |
