Damn it is slow around here. Usually you can at least count on the Quick Rod forum having some activity  Oh well....just curious... What bands/guitarists would you most like to have seen using a Splawn in the past? Like is there an old favorite album of yours that would have sounded killer if it had been a Splawn. Hendrix? Rhoads? Van Halen? |

I would honestly like to see Slash try a Splawn. I can nail appetite with od2 gear 2, much better than any 800 I've tried.

sh!t.....the list goes on and on really.
But I think EVH would really really dig a Splawn. Too bad he's got too much money wrapped up with Fender - plus Fender is able to kick out amps in production like it is nobody's business.
But still...

Accept played here in Charlotte the other week and blew everyone away....with a wall of Splawn, no less! I've been trying to get a good pic or video but havent had much luck. Anyways, probably the best band performance I've seen or heard in a long while and a nice hometown Splawn tribute to boot. On another note, My old band The Dead Kings are playing tonight for the first time in 3 years. We hit our 11 year anniversary and called it quits but the urge to rock overpowers and overcomes.....Our other guitar player is in a Kiss tribute band called Klown, he rips and has the sweetest tobacco burst V that he's had since he was a kid and not 1 but 2 gothic Es-135's. I'll be using my "vintage" Pro-Mod of course! With 4 4x12's and EQ full up all the way across

I think Dino Cazares should try a Nitro.
Also Nuno, Skid Row and a lot of those other ADA guys (as much as I love the sound) would sound interesting with the new Nitros. Imagine that triple tracked sound on Pornograffiti done with Splawns.

It used to go through droughts and then come back strong, but this one's been awfully long... It's weird, because Splawns sure seem to be selling better than ever. I'd love to get the keys to spruce the place up, reorganize, update.
I definitely think Sloosh could have yielded some better tones if, after the Levi amp went missing, he'd found Splawn instead of persevering for years with some bland Marshalls. The AFD seems to sound good though, even if I don't like how it's built.

Oh, and everyone who used Mesa/Boogies. Replace every Rectumfryer with a Nitro but the Mesa Mark amps are still kickass. |
