Well, I placed my first order w/splawn today and got a 2x12 with Creambacks. I am fighting between the QR and PS.
I mainly play in a pop punk band (think if the Ramones, Offspring and Misfits had an incredibly ugly baby) and NEVER use a clean channel. The other styles I play go from Night Ranger/Styx to Accept/Iron Maiden with some Ratt/Dokken for good measure.
Am I tonally going to hear a difference in those 2 amps? Does the gain clean up well enough with rolling back the volume on the Pro Stock? I actually love the clean on my Mesa F50 combo which I could A/B.
Am I going to forever regret not having a dedicated clean channel? My gut tells me, "no."

The OD channel will be identical on both amps.

I owned a Prostock for over a year and now own a Competition. The only thing I can advise you on is that the Prostock is very very very loud! You can do the volume pedal thing but it doesn't sound quite the same in my opinion. Both the Comp and Prostock sound great clean with the guitar volume rolled back. If you are going to play at home alot at bedroom volume...... I'd go with a comp (50 Watt). If you playing alot of shows with little home playing time..... Prostock.
