Splawn spotted in Guitar World Mag

I spotted this today in the latest Guitar World magazine. This is the Holiday 2012 issue. It is short update on Killswitch Engage's upcoming album. It doesn't mention Splawn or Splawn amps being used nor is it powered on but it is sitting right frickin' there.



Pretty sure they used Splawn's on their last album with Howard and they are well known to have used Splawn's live on their last big tour. I dig their tone regardless of what they use so it will be interesting to see if Adam and Joel continue to use Splawn.

I've seen pics of them with 2 or 3 different Splawns now but this one I cannot place. It looks like a single channel like a Pro Mod maybe or Competition. All the others I've seen with them are dual channel Splawns. Anyone know? It has more of a JCM 800 type headshell too.

I bet it is a Super Comp, given the amount of gain that Adam and Joel typically use. I own a 2011 SC in black plexi with gold piping and old Marshall Style knobs, she is a fire breather. Nitro without the clean channel, but when you roll the guitar volume back, she cleans up, not Fender clean, but usable til you roll back in the volume, then she will snarl.
