I was close to ordering a Street Rod once I sold my 1994 Les Paul but I have been thinking about the Comp lately. The only thing it does not have is a clean channel. Over time I have realized I prefer amps without clean channels because things always sound unnatural at gigs going from gain to a shimmering clean channel. It sounds more natural just rolling off volume for clean and less tweaking having to match channels.
I have never played a Comp, so could someone tell me if it has all the versatility of the Quickrod or Street Rod but just without the clean? Does gear 2 and 3 clean up well?
We play 90s rock, hard rock and grunge plus some alternative rock.
