Well, been jamming on my PM since I got. Compared to my Nitro, similar but different. Like comparing wolves to dogs. My Nitro sounds full with great note clarity, while the PM has a bite and growl along with note clarity. I'm still getting used to the gearbox. I dont know which mode or gear I like most since it has 5 ranges of gain. I run both amps through an old school mesa cab with EV's and C90's. To get the complete Splawn tone what would be the speaker combination? On another note, how does the volume knob work on the effect 's loop? This is something new to me since my Nitro is a first generation and didn't come with one.

I found the Splawn SB's works the best with my QR. The loop volume is handy, but I ultimately found that using a good attenuator is the best way to get killer tone at reasonable volumes. Check out he Rivera Rock Crusher and others that sport speaker reactance technology or similar. They're pricier but allow more current interaction with the speakers than other cheaper brands / models, allowing the speakers to move more like they do when no attenuator is used. Avoid setting the gain channel master any higher than 9:30-10 o'clock to extend tube life and to ensure you have plenty of volume left for your solo boost. When the gain channel master is pushed past 10 o'clock you start to lose the amount of volume boost available for the solo boost. At around 11 o'clock and beyond there won't be much, if any noticeable volume boost for the solo boost.
