Sounds like the Creambacks probably sound similar to a Splawn Small Block. I had compared both a greenback and small block loaded cabs side by side once. And they sounded real similar with the small blocks have more low end and they seemed little tighter and punchier than the celestions... my 2 cents

Cool...I want that Greenback tone, woody mids with bigger bottom, tighter and punchier. That is the Creamback! Clips of the Lynchbacks i hear are more harsh. As a result I am thinking of going with the new Celestion Creambacks when released. My go to speaker is the Vinatage 30, because they are so thick and warm, although I know they can be dark...but the upper mids help make them the perfect band speaker so right now my Bogner and PWE go through V30s after trying everything under the sun. For my new Stone Age 212C I was thinking a nice vintage, yet punchy and powerful speaker...so thinking the Lynchback or Creamback. By the way, I do not play metal. The closest I get to metal is Tool, Alice in Chains or A Perfect Circle.....outside of that, I am all classic rock, 90s grunge and rock and indy rock. Amps - Splawn Streetrod(to be ordered), Landry LS50(on order), PWE Event Horizon and 20th Anniversary Bogner Shiva. So my cabs and speakers will be THD 212 with Celestion G12K-100s Stone Age 212C with Celestion Creambacks Bogner 212OS with Celestion Vintage 30s Creambacks: www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?v=10151005332487152&set=vb.135981209757371&type=2&theater www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?v=10151006092662152&set=vb.135981209757371&type=2&theater

Funny thing is, I can't stand metal...but I ordered Celestion Lynchbacks for my Stone Age 212 to be using with all my amps and the Street Rod when I get it. All the reviews have these speakers as warm and smooth, like a Greenback but smoother and good power handling.
