Just picked up a new cabinet and head yesterday. I saw thecombo sitting on craigslist for a couple days and just decided to grab them. $400 for a peavey classic 50 and the mighty Genz Benz G-flex 2x12. I'd say thats pretty much a steal and what you would have to pay for just the cab used normally. I've been waiting for a good 2x12 to come along for the right price and here it is! Sounds great with the Pro-rod and now I dont have to lug a 4x12 around everywhere. I had a classic 50 combo from about the same year as this one and always regretted selling it. The head through the 6505 4x12 sounds killer! It's as quiet as a church mouse but it gets loud loud loud! Great classic sound, ok reverb and great cleans. It even gets into a bit of high gain territory if you really crank the post/pre. I like it and it'll also become my backup for the twin reverb I take on the road. I can plug the head right into the twin's speakers if anything should go wrong with the Fender (which I dont see happening, its been on the road constantly for the last 20 years...thats no joke!). Anyways, hope all is well with everyone, I think my cabinet buying has come to an end...finally.......probably..

The stock speakers seem pretty good in this cab. I believe they are supposed to be sort of a beefy v30. Sounds like it could be a Legend or some OEM Eminence thing. Anyways, anybody on here play these cabs? Ever try swapping the speakers? Probably isnt necessary but I do have some others that could sound good, I guess I can experiment..
