So I finally retired my Quad of Ruby EL34 BHT tubes after over two years of service at about 10-20 hours use per week. I decided to try the new tube offering from Ruby that is supposed to be similar to BHTs with the longevity and high plate voltage handling the BGs. No not the 70's band Bee Gees. These are hard to find right now and are only available through a few folks here in the US. I purchased mine from a Diezel amp tech in California. These are the tubes Peter Diezel is putting in the new Hagen amp. They are a tighter midrange focused tube that Ruby made for Diezel (or so the rumor mill states). They are supposed to have less bass than BHTs and be a little more snug in the palm mute realm. I have had them in the 2006 Quickrod for a week now with no issues and bias is staying true. Tone wise they are similar to the BHTs, but have noticeably more bite and have tighter bass. Maybe too stiff, but time will tell. I will say this is a great tube choice for Nitro owners with the tighter bass and mid kick. I'll update as the amp gets used a few times this week in sessions. It will be going through some serious tracking Saturday afternoon 6-7 hours, so that should give me a good idea about these tubes. So far so good though. ;D

Good to know. I look forward to any updates. So far I'm still digging the BHT's in the Nitro but there's always greener grass somewhere.
