Lmao yes it does. I was getting all kinds of microphonic hiss and had to schuffle the preamp tubes around and now its running like a beast. |

Sounds like my old Nitro but with manageable volume and way more gain. OD2 is soooo improved. Boosting this amp is pointless whereas I boosted my other Nitro to get the saturation I wanted for leads. No need for that now. And the loop volume does not rob tone like it did in my 2009 QR ( or as I perceived it to do). The changes on this newer model are not wholesale and it still sounds just like a Nitro but a much meaner version.

At band volumes a squealing pitch like a harmonic gone wild starts to swell and it won't stop feeding back until I change to the clean channel. I swapped out all the preamp tubes and thought I had it beat but when I cranked it to band volume this afternoon the squealies were there with a vengeance. Hoping its a power tube at this point because I know its not a preamp tube. Love this amp and will love it more as soon as I can tinker with the power tubes tomorrow. |

Tube problems suck! I had two quads of different brand tubes make the same weird noise in my Nitro. I thought it was the amp after swapping every tube and having the same problem but on the third set the noise stopped and it's been rock-solid ever since.

Tube problems resolved. Holy sh!te batman this amp rocks ! I was blasting some Michael Schenker riffs out of it today and it was killing. Running an MXR Black Label Chorus and a TC Flashback delay in the loop and its tone, tone, tone.

Lmao... I have not turned the amp on in 8 days. My entire house is getting new carpet and everything is in disarray. I meant to order some tubesfrom valve queen and have not done that yet.

Cool. I got a set of Ruby EL34's from her recently. Yea I need to retube three amps and I have dragged my feet buying tubes since I have been so busy. Ordered a zomm q3 tonight so I could make better clips. Was not digging what I was getting so I will fire that up this Friday and record my gig on Saturday. |
