Nice playing dude! That's a different genre than most Nitro's are used too I'm sure.

Our band plays 90s covers and I would love to play this. Shows that the Nitro can play way more than just metal. Funk it up!

Nitro is very versatile, turn the gain right down, resonance up to half and try a strat through it. Funka-Cola heaven!

The fact that the Nitro sounds thicker to me than the Quick Rod and can still play classic rock or 90s rock or grunge is huge, and I may be leaning toward getting one over a Quick Rod.

Curious, why are you using the Nitro and not the Quick Rod for this band? It seems the Quick Rod would be a better fit.

Do you have other clips? Your band sounds great, and your tone is killer.

Curious, why are you using the Nitro and not the Quick Rod for this band? It seems the Quick Rod would be a better fit. I had sold my QR already. The band also did Tool, Godsmack, Disturbed, Shinedown etc etc so I always used my Nitro. This video is actually of my 2008 Nitro. My 2012 Nitro was on order at the time so I had only 1 Splawn amp at the time. I just joined a cover band doing all 80s like Journey, QR, Warrant, Gnr, Loverboy etc and I play my first gig in March with them. The drummer is an actor and stand up comic who knows a lot of people. I went to his house for my audition with my QR and he insisted I play through his cabinets. Damn it if he did not have 2 Soldano 4x12s that he bought from Jon Corabi and were allegedly used on the road by Mick Mars. Holy mother of god did my QR sound sweet through one of those ! I took my Nitro over for rehearsal last weekend and it was unreal through the Soldano. I really find these amps to be way more flexible than what the general consensus is. The Nitro does an awesome 80s tone and the QR is great for Godsmack, Disturbed and Tool. I am more at home with the Nitro but I can use them interchangeably without complaint.

I think the Nitro gets an unfair shake in the versatility department. Everyone says the Quickrod is more versatile on account of the gears but with a couple twists of the gain and resonance knobs on the Nitro you can go from jazz, classic rock, to full on metalz.

Wow, it seems they really are versatile! The band I am with now is doing a lot from the 90s and modern alternative rock. Lots of things like AFI and similar modern rock bands, 90s bands like Pearl Jam, Tool, Radio Head, Rage Against the Machine, REM, Chilli Peppers STP and Alice in Chains. Been checking out the Fryette Sig:X as well lately.
