V30 in Street Rod

Picked up a Street Rod. This is my second time around.
No more red transformers, I guess Heyboers are gone.
Sounded just ok with the stock speaker much better through a 4x12 Bogner with EVH's.


I have old UK V30 figured can hurt to try it. I know there is lots of love for the Splawn speakers.
Sounds awesome. Can't believe the difference.
Every tone control is usable from 1-10, notes ring out in chords. Sounds great.

I have a V30 in an old Mea 1X12 cab. I think it sounds better than the stock speaker as well. The Smallblock is soooo bright in comparison. My SR sounds best through my Genz Benz G-Flex 2X12....very versatile

Sou you are talkign about a Vintage 30 instead of teh Smallblock Speaker ? What sounded better in the Vintage 30 ?

I like the Vintage 30 better than the Smallblock. The Smallbock is brighter and kind of peaky to me. The V30 has more mids and a better feel.

Great feedback !! When I tried the Street Rod , I found the Small Block a little Brash. I just ordered a Street Rod and an extension Cab loaded with Vintage 30's..... Vintage 30's in my opinion gave a nice mix of Mids and Low End I like. Again ,thanks :-)
