I expect a full review comparing it to your 2008 model. What power tubes did you go with?

I expect a full review comparing it to your 2008 model. What power tubes did you go with? Honestly I was never given a choice so I am guessing it will come with Sino tubes. I will promptly swap them all out for Ruby el34s and some Tungsol preamp tubes with a Ruby ac5 in V1. |

Congrats man, must be exciting Thanks. Im stoked but this is my third order from Scott and I am not ordering this one blind so I am not bursting like I was with my QR or first Nitro. I am excited to compare it with my 2008 Nitro. |

Ok so had a gig tonight and my 2008 Nitro was just slaying. It was sick ! No boost......just wah, tuner and a delay pedal and I had the best tone running my LP with Suhr Aldrich pups through it. Im stoked about my 2012 Nitro and I like to have a backup but I am wondering which amp is going to get the most use.

I actually meant to ask KT88 or EL34. Guess you went with the EL34's. That's my favorite as well. The KT88's are an awesome tube in the Nitro but the EL's are more musical to me. The Ruby BHT's kick azz! Great low end, very tight.
When did the voicing change in the Nitro's? I have a 2009 which has the volume knob in the loop. Did they change after that?

The KT88's are an awesome tube in the Nitro but the EL's are more musical to me. The Ruby BHT's kick azz! Great low end, very tight. When did the voicing change in the Nitro's? I have a 2009 which has the volume knob in the loop. Did they change after that? Yea there have been revisions. According to what I have read and what Scott has told me the Nitro voicing has changed slightly and now has more saturation. He is also using a different transformer I believe that causes the amp to run quieter. The resonance knob has been improved also according to users. |

Just an FYI bro,Mine souded great from the get go...I just did my first tube swap because I was having a voltage drop(volume dip) and figured it was a powertube going bad(hoping thats all it was anyway)...the amps fine now.I went from the stock sino kt88's to JJ's and the amp is just a little bit smoother and may have a little more compression...I replaced one preamp tube (V3) because it was looking a little tired also...I think you will be happy right out of the box..this wasn't the case with my first Nitro |

Man, I couldn't imagine my Nitro needing more saturation. I never take the gain more than half way up and it is the most pissed off amp I've ever heard. It's wierd for me that after all the different amps I've been through that I'm completely content with the Nitro being the last one I'd ever own. Every time I crank it up it is bliss. |

You would kick our butts on guitar but it would ok because i know i suck, so Im not intiminated lol ;D Tom has an awesome jam room/studio fwiw Ive been over there before. That's why I bought a 5150 because he let me borrow his 6505. I let him borrow my Quickrod and he had to go buy one himself  Im sure he and I both will be Nitro shopping once we hear yours. I heard one at an ampfest in Rocky River (Tim aka rayneman's) but something was wrong with it. It just didnt have any balls...my QR killed it. He ended up selling it |
