...So I plugged my SR into my Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12 that I use for all my Marshalls and I found out something very interesting.
Normally my tone is fairly sharp, crisp and very sensitive with the SR. My settings with the stock speaker and with a 1x12 that Im using with a Celestion Vintage 30 are: Treb-11oclock, Mids-Noon, Bass-Noon and presence off.
The G-flex darkened my sound up so much I now run: Treb-2 oclcock, Mids-1oclcock, bass-11 oclock and the presence on 1oclock
Mids are very strong with this cabinet and very warm.
I just thought I could never get a dark tone out of a SR!

I am always surprised to hear this. My Street rod is very dark and chewy. I can get thin high end sound from it on extreme settings, but for the most part I wish mine was brighter overall.

I also put a NOS RCA 12ax7 in V2. That tamed the gain a bit...maybe too much. I have JJs in the rest of the sockets. I had the Sino in V2 and it sounded very good. I dig the tone its just so different from the small block.
