small block's in an open-back cab?

Has anyone tried using Small Block speakers in an open-back 2x12 cab?

I'm seriously thinking about replacing the speakers in my budda open-back 2x12. I'm considering small blocks, but I'm just concerned that they might not sound best in an openback cab.

Opinions? Suggestions?

I was trying this the other day (back of my combo kept falling open!). It seems a little bright when listening to the amp solo/cold, but cuts through nicely in the band rehearsal. I think most would say its ok, but if you really need more bass, the big block is 55hz, and I think you can find 1 or 2 cheap around here!
