Been pondering over getting a guitar from Rondo Music for about 6 years now... finally pulled the trigger... (www.rondomusic.com)
Figured, ill order a very inexpensive SX and see what all the hype is about. Happened to walk into a local pawn shop and there was a cool red SX strat copy hanging on the wall for $60. They only sell new for around a $100 shipped, but figured its only $60.
I got it home, must say, Im impressed!! I've had 4 USA fenders and a handful of MIM's. Guitar is totally stock, plastic still on the pickguard and all. This thing easily keeps up with the MIM Fender Std Strat I have! The single coils could be a little better, but easily as good as MIM fender. Hardware is all the equilvalent to the MIM. Real wood used to build these too, one pc. neck, decent rosewood fretboard. Only complaints really are the cheap plastic nut, strap buttons suck, and tuners could be better.(but hold tune) But as far as tone, worth more than they are charging!
Overall, I highly suggest one!! I plan on ordering a couple more guitars from Rondo in the near future. You do the math $100ish for an SX, or $499 for a MIM standard fender. Both are pretty close to the same quality guitar. Easily keeps up/beats anything squier.
Might load pics if my camera cooperates lol.
