I'm trying not to interfere on this one. If it means anything, it felt good to see a response....but then I saw it was you  Oh well, the dude backed out of the deal anyways so Im keeping my gov and mow for now. I did learn some new stuff from your article Ayton so it wasnt a total loss  thanks  |

If I had interfered, which I did not, I would have said, "Just do the trade and see what they sound like! It's not like the Gobbler/Man-oh-man combo would be difficult to replace if you couldn't live without them."

In other news, I see Celestion has finally unveiled a higher wattage G12M at NAMM.

From what I hear, I believe they fare off best as a mixing speaker to mix with SB's...

Big blocks? Imagine angels singing en chorale... something like that. Great sounding speaker. Not as bright as the Sm. block -- more thump but stays tight with the saturation. It's a coin flip as to whether I like the SB or BB more. Gonna try them in an X pattern when my next pair of BB come in.

Why not try Avatar Hellatones? 30 is broken in Celestion G12H-30, 60 is broken in Celestion Vintage 30. $99 each. You can't go wrong....

Why not try Avatar Hellatones? 30 is broken in Celestion G12H-30, 60 is broken in Celestion Vintage 30. $99 each. You can't go wrong.... Paul is back, and makes a fabulous point! The Hellatone 30 is what I mix with a Greenback for killer chew tone. I suppose two of those will only give LTK 60 watts of handling, though. |
