went to sam ash with the little one (who thinks they only sell guitars and ukelalies (spelling? and imagine that with a 5 year old lisp) on friday because it was too windy to rake leaves on our day off and we had nothing else to do.. anywho, was playing through some strats and whatnot and the guy said he had something used for me to check out...and I ended up getting it with the case for a steal... it's got upgraded fender noiseless pups in it but they're the vintage output (read: weak as all get out)...so I just ordered a dimarzio injector for the bridge to see if I dig it..if I do, I'll get the neck model as well..if I don't I'll consider putting in a strat sized humbucker ala air norton or maybe another chopper in the bridge and relocate this to the neck.. been checking out gilbert vids where he has these loaded up into his funky ibby fireman just going into a vintage modern...no boosts that I know of and I'm digging the sound...should be cool

Is it true these are made from pulped Chinese newspapers? ;D
Just bustin yer biscuits. A new guitar day is still a new guitar day, congrats. It's a shame Sam Ash doesn't have that double door system like Guitar Center does, because you can hear them laughing after you leave. Sorry, I did it again.

I'll tell the ballbusters what..once I get my new pickup in there, how about I try an make a video if my cell phone can do it?
I will say this..alot of the most coveted tones that ever happened weren't done on $2500 suhrs...
EVH? Peice of sh!t he built himself
Slash's Appetite tone? A FOREIGN copy of a Les Paul..that's right..not a $5600 gibson...
it weighs as much as a strat, it plays like a strat..and it sounds like a strat....
put in the hands of someone that knows what the they're doing a $400 or $4000 guitar doesn't make a bit of difference..

Ok so I played this "crappy" squire last weekend. It plays and sounds every bit as good as a USA Strat. Yes the pickups aren't my thing but the guitar as a whole is sweet. When you consider the price, it's a no-brainer.

I know you were busting my balls.it wasn't really directed at you..after all..you play a japanese charvel and a japanese les paul copy..so how could you bust my balls, right? I thought it was a jap LP copy..anywho, my point about slash was it wasn't some multi thousand dollar cork sniffer gibson that he played on those early albums that everyone drooled over..savvy?

I've played some Squiers that sounded great.. I think its just all about the hardware. Like after a few gigs you really start seeing where the cuts were made.. when your salty man-sweat starts to disintegrate the bridge and cheap pots etc.. Other than that theres no reason not to grab one of these for a steal maybe replace the neck and pup's!
