something came over me today..been playing alot..and I was hooked up to both cabs (my 4x12 w/ sb 25s and a 2x12 with weber 1265s)
the 2x12 is way darker than the 4x12...andI got a brilliant (or ill fated) idea..what if I take out two of the sbs in my big cab and replace them with the weber 1265s then put the remaining two sb speaker into the 2x12 cab
could possibly be a killer 4x12...all the grit of the small blocks with the added fuller sound of the webers...interesting..very interesting..

I love experimenting with speaker combinations and would have tried this as soon as I'd thought of it! Give it a go.
As a caveat, I have learned that combos you imagine might be great sometimes are not. I remember thinking a Greenback (all mids, no ass, soft top) should be perfect with a 75 (no mids, lots of ass, lots of top) but it did not work out that way.

I'll be doing it on this rainy dreary day =D having the two cabs running at once and sitting between them gave me the idea..of course you know that doesn't mean the physics of having them in the same cab will actually pan out as you said..but it can't hurt to try... I juts figure this way if it does work out I'll still have the 2x12 loaded with the other two small blocks...so while that won't sound exactly the same as one loaded up with four of them I'd still get that same flavor if I ever wanted it straight up

I was thinking of dropping 2 G12K-100's into my cab along side the Small Blacks. The Celestians has no breakup, huge low end, and are very smooth. I figure they'll fill the overall sound out real nice with the Nitro.

update:
speaker PHAIL!!!
I took the backs off of both cabs and realize the webers are 8 ohms...sigh...both my cabs are wired for 16 ohm mono operation but the 4x12 has four 16 ohm speakers...fun ghoul!!!
guess I'll just run both of them at the same time from now on..hehehe...
