I am looking to get a head version of teh Streetrod in the fall. How do you think it compares to an old Marshall that has that chewy compression that is inherent in a classic Marshall. Do you get that chew in the leads? That singing compression? I played a Streetrod once but was at low volumes in the store.

To me, it's way more JCM800. Biting. It doesn't feel or sound chewy to me. It may be able to get some of that, but I think it's more 800 than JTM or whatnot.

Thanks man! Since I like my Marshall more chewy and thick...I might be best to skip the Splawn and look to something else. I tend to like the chewier tones.

There's a YouTube of a guy playing the Street Rod at lower gain - he's doing ZZ Top 'Waitin' on the Bus'. Check that out and see if it's chewy to you.
