Hey, everyone. Here is my SR: Came in Monday, and I had my first classic/hard rock rehearsal with it last night. I usually use a Splawn Nitro with the gain about 10 o'clock into a Splawn 2x12" with Small Blocks. Les Paul into my pedalboard (tuner, wah, volume pedal, and flanger in front and reverb and delay in the loop) into the amp. First of all, the SR has plenty of gain for me. I have the 4 button footswich, and I used gears 2&3 with the gain around noon. I thought I was going to lose a ton of bottom end, but I was pleasantly surprised at the low end and large sound from a 1x12" combo. Did it sound smaller than the Nitro and it's closed back 2x12"? Yes, but not by as much as I was expecting. Nowhere near as much as I was expecting, actually. I had it on 40 watts, loop volume full up, gain halfway and eq about noon, presence about 9 o'clock. Really good hard rock tone. Between gears 2 and 3, OD 1 and 2, and my Les Paul's volume knob I could go from Rolling Stones ish all the way to 80's hard rock with no problem. This amp is a bar giggers dream! It was only one rehearsal, so I don't want to gush about it, but the SR seems the answer to a question I have been asking for the last 20 years! Kudos to Scott and the fellas for a great amp!

Awesome amp. I like your choice of cosmetics. I'd love to get a sr head, congrats

Thanks! It looks even better in person. A SR head would be a great gigging head.

Definately. My quick rod is so loud its actually shocking. I've had and currently have plenty of 100w heads and none are as loud as my splawn. I'd like the street rod into a 2x12 or 2 1x12 cabs. Great portabilty but still get that thump of the cab and the stage. Great amp I just love the tone of these firebreathers

My Nitro is a beast as well, and it is an older one without the loop volume. The Street Rod's volume is VERY manageable, even without the loop volume. I'm well pleased with it so far!

So it works well at bedroom volume? Wonder why the Master is still not as good as say a 20th Bogner or something....
How tall is the SR combo? more than 20 inches?

That is one fine looking amp BigJ. I would like to get my hands on a streetrod eventually. The QR and 412 can wear on my back sometimes. Congrats!

Thanks, Jcortez! Yeah, even my 2x12" was getting old as far as dragging it around goes. 4x12" cabs sound soooo good though! Richedie - the master and loop volume control bring the volume down to bedroom levels quite well. The height is given at 21", and with the casters measures at about 23 and 3/4".

Thatis the style I was gonna get but changed my mind to BLK/Snakeskin. Cool looking! I play 8-10 gigs a month in larger clubs and my 1-12 (smallblock) and 4-12(smallblocks) cabs stay at home. The combo itself actually sounds 100% as good as it does with a 4-12! I only would bring them out for looks now. Every now and then I try out a different amp that some salesperson says is great sounding, and rarely does anything come close.I usually run home and hug my streetrod and tell her I will never leave.

Black and snakeskin would definitely be a striking scheme! I havn't gigged with it yet - this Saturday eve will be the first live test for the SR, but I think it's gonna be great!

Maybe a Street rod head and my THD 212 which is only 45lbs would be a great little, big sounding gig rig. Also have a large Mesa Boogie 112 with EVM12L! I still have to have a 412 for THOSE moments.

The head with a 2x12" would be a great rig, no doubt! I have a Nitro with a Small Block filled Splawn 2x12" cab, and it's great.

I had a 2x12 splawn and even though it was the best sounding cab ever, It became useless because it was so low to the ground.Unless you put it on a box or something and that looks dorky to me and ends up taking up the same floor space as the 4x12. I am just as well off with the combo.

I would think the combo would be just as hard as the 212 to hear, but the open back helps....but you lose the Marshall style punch. Depends on the 212 cab! I have a THD 212 cab that has a slot port opening in the back which helps it get heard on stage! My Bogner Oversized 212 is about 25" tall and has a rear semi opening that sounds huge anywhere on stage. I think I might order a Splawn 212 OS 212 cab because they are really tall and Scott can make it with a semi open back! I also use my Marshall 412 with T75/V30s for when I want that vibe. I have to admit, I am hooked on the bigness of the 412 on stage....love how it sounds! You guys find the Streetrod harsh at all, lacking warmth or a thick lead tone?
