Any thoughts?
I worked as a bailiff for a year before going to the street and worked many murder trials. One that comes to mind was one that was completely circumstantial with NO BODY. The victim was last seen with the suspect. The suspect lied and was proven a liar by the police and prosecution as to his whereabouts during the timeline of the disappearance. No real motive and only assumptions as to what really happened to the victim. No forensics etc. It was a weak case, but one thing was in the minds of the jury..........the victim is dead and this suspect knows what happened. Be it an accident or not this suspect knows. The suspect in the case I worked was found guilty and as far as I know has not won any appeals and is prison where he belongs.
If a "man" is found guilty, and believe me he was I had to deal with him outside of court proceedings, on little to no evidence then why in the blue blazes is Casey Anthony going to be free on Thursday after she is sentenced to time served for four misdemeanors?
I followed this case closely to sharpen my skillz as a detective and also listen to the computer and cell phone forensic testimony since that is what I do now. Was this jury asleep? Were they in love with Casey? They convicted her of lying to police. If that is the case then the jury believes she lied about being innocent of the responsibility of her daughter's death. The phone calls the jury was able to listen to between Casey and her family and friends were enough by themselves to show she knows what happened and is not sharing it. Well if you don't want to share then she should sit in jail until she would like to share. The evidence was enough for conviction of aggravated child abuse causing death period. If my daughter was last seen in my custody and then I lied for a month about where she was, then 6 months later, a city worker found her skeletal remains dumped in a swamp among bags of trash near my house, then continued to lie and come up with four different scenarios as to what happened to her would I be found guilty or would I be a free man?
Caylee would not be dead if she was in the custody of someone else. Casey should serve life in prison. Little Caylee did not deserve to die to allow her mother to party.
I'm just glad that according to my beliefs in God that little Caylee was not old enough for God to hold her accountable for sin and she is heaven with Him.
On another note I truly believe justice was not achieved for little Caylee and her murdering mother will now be a millionaire by Friday (book deals, appearances, a movie, interviews, etc) reaping the rewards for killing her baby girl.
I thought this would liven up the board a bit.
