Ohm settings

I have a pro mod with a splawn 4x12 big/small block x pattern cabinet. I was wanting to hook up my old Marshall 4x12 and run a full stack. The Marshall is a 16 ohm amp with only one input jack. Do I cut the ohms to 8 on the amp and use the 16 ohm input on the splawn cab?

Yes that is correct. Amp set to 8 ohms full power. And into each 16 ohm jack on the cabs.
