Thanks. Quick Rod is the ultimate whether I'm playing Slayer or Van Halen and anything in between.

Ibanez RG520QS stripped to it's natural finish then tung oiled.
Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis in Bridge, Dimarzio neck p/u maybe the PAF pro or Norton I forget.

I have a Jackson Dinky Reverse with an 81 in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Livewire Classic in the neck. Sounds great if you like actives, but I've never liked them with the Quick Rod much.
Other guitars have BBQ,JB,Tone Zone,Screamin' Demon,SD Custom and they all sound fat as hell through the Splawn.

I used my ESP mii and that has a parallel axis and hot rails in it. Our other guitarist has a purple sunburst ESP lynch with screamin demon in it. Both of these sounded massive through the quick rod and I've never thought of the demon as remotely thick sounding yet it outshined my 85 loaded m1 custom. I tried my 70 Les Paul 3pu Custom and again it just sounded huge and thick. I don't know why actives sound somewhat dead through my qr but I'm liking low output pickups in it even though my parallel axis sounded great. Confusing but the tone with my wilton ESP is what I've been searching for

I have another RG 520QS with the same natural finish as the other, but it has a Screamin' Demon in the bridge and a PAF pro in the neck. One of the fattest sounds ever through the QR. Very chunky and articulate. It has become one of my favorite pickups. A lot of people don't think that they are heavy enough but I think they do just fine.

I gotta agree that the screamin demon sounds great through the splawn, I've always found it thin in other applications
