Well,
it could be harder to bias together, as they could be very far apart in value (possibly too far apart), otherwise it doesn't matter, unless it sounds funny to you. If you got the half power switch you could easily run one of the pairs until you get the quad. You should bias the amp regardless of what you do.
What does your repairman say?
