I traded my 2004 ProStock for a 2008 Competition today! It's the white one with the v shape grill in front like the one on top of this page. I love it! It sounds pretty much the same as my Pro Stock did but I can crank it a bit more to get the tube juices flowing without making my ears bleed and girlfriend scream at me. I find it cleans up a little better but it could be my imagination. The Pro Stock was just insane loud. Anyways I am a happy happy camper and so is my girlfriend! Here's a pic of my new baby! Handsome, Bri! Enjoy.
Would be interested to hear of any other differences you spot. Does it sound brighter, darker, thinner, fatter etc.? I'm guessing it sounds just as aggressive as we've been told what makes the Competition so toothy is the lack of a clean channel in the circuit compared with the QR, but you were already a single channel man.
Nice to see a new owner. Been a while!

Thanks guys. I love the look of this amp more that's for sure. My prostock was the black plexi style with gold piping which was nice looking too but I prefer the white with grill in front. As for differences so far even though it's only been 24 hours...... I think aggressive wise, they are very similar. I used to have my pre amp gain at noon on my prostock and that had no modes or gears..... it just had od1 and od2. My comp has the same aggressivness in gear2 with gain at 3 o'clock but gets too aggressive in my opinion in gear 3 at 3 o'clock. I starting to think that the comp might sound a little warmer but it's probably because I could't get the prostock tubes flowing at bedroom volumes without a volume pedal in the loop.
