HAHAHAHAHAH!. Yeah Hank is a piece of work,, he actually prefers Crate amps to most good tube heads. Yeah I sold this one and had Scott do some work on my old one. The old one has some SERIOUS mojo.. I'll never sell it. Josh at Splawn said they only made 8 with the transformers I have. Its a beast.. My plan is to keep this old one 2003 I think.. and get a new one later this year. I just don't need 2 right now. Ah, I didn't know you sold that one. I remember that was the one you always played. The other (older) QR you had someone else play a few times when they jammed with you and you always drowned the other older QR out... Odd that you sold it. I have a 2009 QR with all Sino tubes if you ever want to hear it. I'm curious to hear it through your cab. BTW, there's a local guy on CL with a white Splawn straight 4x12 cab with Splawn SB/BB x-pattern for $350... but the guy won't return emails. Probably sold it. Better off that way I guess because I have no way to even get a 4x12 to my house. |

Probably just the way its biased.. I think that one was 38 with Mullards.. my old one is a 29. Weird how that works.. They should be biased around 31 on average. 38 is too high... It would probably sound a tad harsh biased so high. What was the big tone difference between the two QR's? |

I don't know if those are "bias" #'s.. just the #'s on the tubes from Scott.
No big difference at all.. the other one seemed louder because I had it louder on stage than the other rig.. ALOT louder.

Tracked rhythm guitars with your Quickrod tonight. Gear 1 OD2 boosted with an Exotic BB with mid boost at halfway. Sounds like butter. Duplicated, backed one track up .0001, hard panned them L&R. Nothing but smiles in the room. No compression, no post eq.

I had 4 cabs.. The guy in Dirrty Hairy has one, I sold one to a dude in California who didn't want to wait on a build, and I sold one with this head.. I kept the one I thought sounded best which is the x pattern slant with Governor/Man OWars.. the one I've used for the past 6 years. The one everyone calls Scott about because it sounds better than THEIR cab.. lol.

Robin the drummer and sometimes guitarist has the Splawn cab.. the new DH lead guy is playing through a Crate.. LMAO. No really.

Yeah I have the cab also. I am recovering both pieces. The cab sounds awesome also. Real smooth distortion.

Hope there isn't any bad blood there between y'all. I saw a couple of new DH vids. The new guy improvs all the solos. He can play well, but seems way too sterile from the vids I watched IIRC. |

yeah I kept my old head and old slant smokey, tore up, beer stained cab.. its awesome.  No bad blood at all.. I left that band for 2 new bands that are both alot better with alot better players that make alot more $. |
