I know this is over 6 months old.. but I found a new video from this Dio Tribute thing we did last year with Rob Rock on vocals. Pretty cool and knarly QR tone.. Guyton Custom strat (JB+'59), Quick Rod 1st gear OD1... no effects, no pedals, straight into amp.

I think I own the quickrod you were playing in this video now. It has made for Dirty Craig or Dirty Harry or Craigs really harry and dirty or something like that on the back plate. Did you sell it to a truck driver named Hank? He sold it to me saying it didn't have enough gain for him. It's going through some serious rehab in my garage. It had a faint smell stale beer and cigarettes. Hank told me you said the amp he prefers sounds like grease sizzling in a frying pan. I think Scott put some extra mojo on this amp. It sounds like a doctored guitar track after an expensive mix session. Very smooth/tight and sweet to the ears. It smells much better now after spending a week in rehab . It's getting fresh tolex and piping next weekend. No offense, but not a fan of the snakeskin.

HAHAHAHAHAH!. Yeah Hank is a piece of work,, he actually prefers Crate amps to most good tube heads. Yeah I sold this one and had Scott do some work on my old one. The old one has some SERIOUS mojo.. I'll never sell it. Josh at Splawn said they only made 8 with the transformers I have. Its a beast.. My plan is to keep this old one 2003 I think.. and get a new one later this year. I just don't need 2 right now.

Seems like the gain is more organic and easy to dial in. Weird, but good for me I guess.

Probably just the way its biased.. I think that one was 38 with Mullards.. my old one is a 29. Weird how that works..
