I just read in the recent Guitar World rag (April 2001) in the 'Tune-Up' article on page 19 that Luke Hoskin uses a Splawn Nitro.
It doesn't say when he started but I am assuming it can be heard on their upcoming album 'Scurrilous' as that is what the article was focused on. They are Prog Metal band that I am not familiar with but I'll have to check them out and look for this album.
He also uses a 5150 and the other guitarist uses a Peavey 6534 and 3120.
Nice to see another well known act using Splawn. One of these days I'm going to create a thread to keep track of all pros using Splawn.

Ooh! I have their two albums, very interesting band. I'd say it's something beyond prog metal as it's totally bonkers, but not sure what I'd label it. Tone isn't great on those albums, so I strongly suspect they were made with the Peaveys. Great to hear he's onto the secret of big tone.

^ lol Yeah, GW actually described it as Spazz/Prog Metal. The article then goes on to describe how they decided this time to do 'normal' song structures with a more 'strait-forward' approach. So hopefully that combined with some Splawnage will make for a good album
