I have a Nitro with KT88's and I currently run mine like this...
Res=off
Pres=off
Bass=10:00
Mid=3:00
Treb=12:00
Vol=8-9:00
Gain=11:00
OD1
I use EMG pick ups, no fx, into a Splawn 4x12 with sb's. I play in a Metallica cover band and these settings get a super tight, chunky, thick rhythm tone similar to the Load/Reload album tones.

I have my SC adjusted this way, mine has EL34bs.
res 2:00
pres 2:00
bass 3:00
mid 1:00
treb 1:00
solo as needed
vol as tolerable
gain 1:30
loop volume between off and 1/4
mode usually on
OD2 depends on the song
I play my McCarty with the Tremonti pickups most all the time, i play stuff like Sevendust, Disciple, Pillar, tuned down a whole step and drop C. I play my Les Pauls and Strats in either half step or standard, i almost never touch my tone controls from the settings i have now, maybe bring the gain way down for blues.
