If any of you get the chance you should go and check the Voodoo Chile (Hendrix Tribute) with Eric Gales/TM Stevens/Kevin LeBlanc. Even if you aren’t a big Hendrix fan you need to see these guys play their asses off. They did some of Gales original stuff and some Jimi stuff. I just kept telling my bassist it’s not even right how fooking good these guys are. I swear TM has the most fun on stage then anyone I have ever seen. He just fcking LOVES it. So inspiring to watch him kill it up there and having a ball. Gales….holy sh!tballs. How? I don’t understand how amazing this dude can be. It’s inhuman. Playing lefty and upside down makes for some unique chordings. Some stuff is like WTF was that? I have never heard some of these chords in my life! He’s flawless but raw as hell. Oh and his Two Rock amp sounded UNREAL. Goddamn I want one so bad. Too bad they are so much $$$ I hung out with them after the show for a bit, awesome guys who just live to play music. I am humbled. Go check out the tour! www.ericgales.net/Eric-Gales/tour-schedule

Feels weird not seeing TM Stevens in multicolored spandex, but still.

Feels weird not seeing TM Stevens in multicolored spandex, but still. Exactly! TM had a crazy jump suit on last night, lol. He is just an awesome guy. He actually came out to see us at our last gig and gave us props! TM telling me I’m a sick guitar player was a personal highlight for me. Eric’s version of Little Wing is just amazing. I really love his approach to Jimi's songs.

Raw Dawg rules. I've been fortunate enough to see Eric many times here in Memphis. I used to see him almost every weekend back a few years ago when I first started playing. It was obvious though that he was having some substance issues (many times he'd show up completely trashed, yet still manage to play a great show). It was a shame when they locked him up, but it was probably for the better, as he's gaining a lot of momentum now that he's sober. The only thing that's different is that he seems to be a lot "bluesier" now, unlike those few albums back in 2007/2008 (Crystal Vision and Psychedelic Underground) were heavy. Unfortunately, his manager was telling me that he won't be around Memphis much because his "friends" here are the ones who always cause him to get back into trouble. Here's probably my most memorable Eric moment (my dad and I were sitting next to the guy who took the video). Probably only ten people in the club, but it was one of the best shows I've seen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk6nckc9Sdc

Awesome Wade, forgot you were from the same hometown. Raw Dawg is a monster! I'd have to say he is my favorite guitarist right now. Definitely has the chops to be one of the best around. There was only about 40 people in the club when I saw him. I kept thinking what a shame it was that KoL are selling out stadiums and this guy is playing shows the same size as me! Well hopefully that changes for him soon now that he is sobered and out playing again.
