Hey guys, Im getting an sb loaded 4x12 from Scott (yayyy!!) and I currently have a Splawn 2x12 that is 8 ohms I have never used more than one cabinet in my life so my question is...Are the sb loaded 4x12's 16 ohms? So what should I set my ohms selector knob to on my Quickrod while running the two cabs together? Talk to me like a 2 yr old because I am an ohms retard Thanks

when using 2 cabs you ALWAYS want to make sure both cabs have the same impedance (ohm rating). If your current 212 is 8 ohm, then you want a 412 rated at 8 ohm as well. That can be somewhat tricky but I may have a diagram that will help you. Either way, I would email Josh and ask his opinion. He is very cab savvy. Again, the trannies can probably handle whatever, but I'm giving you the safe way. Look at the formula on top. If all speakers are 8 ohms and the cab is wired in series/parallel then the resulting output is 8 ohms. Now, keep in mind, when you run your two 8 ohm cabs together your amp will see those as being in parallel so your total load to the amp will be 4.(disregard the note at the very bottom regarding 16, that was left over from another exercise.) series you add parallel you divide cheers
