Hey guys! Super stookked here to get a hold of one of these. I have been GASin for a while now and just had to pull the trigger and get one of these BEASTS. Ended up getting her at a sweeet deal too -- $1300 mint. It's the newest 2010 model with the KT88 Sino Art tubes & Electro Harmonix 12AX7 -- do you think these are some of the better sounding tubes for the amp ? Amps i currently own are: Bogner Xtc, Framus Dragon, Modded Marshall 800 2203. I might be selling all of these if the nitro blows my wad, which i have a feeling it will! is that blue or black?
I've heard good things about the Sino's but never tried any. Not a fan of EXH preamps but give 'em a try.
PS: that is a sick deal. Someone lost money on that one. I wonder why so cheap?

Thanks dude! It's blue / gray What power / pre tubes would you suggest to get some meaty metal kse style tones? Yea man, I was able to talk him down to $1300. i basically used a craiglist searcher to find the guy, then went through ebay to finish the transaction. I guess i just got lucky  Does anyone know if splawn uses the same shell as an 800? looking into covers / cases. \m/ |

I've only heard complaints when people play a nitro through a Mesa cab and through v30's in general.
Some guys like it though.

Mesa cabs are very boomy with a Nitro. I hated the pair. V30's and the Nitro sound bad ass as long as they are loaded in a good, tight sounding cab.

Congrats on a killer deal...The Nitro crushes!! I'm using Small Blocks in a Splawn 4x12 and it sounds huge, thinking about going back to the Big Block/Small Block x-pattern again just to compare.

Thanks for the feedback dudes/dudette! I ended up getting a Bogner 412 loaded with 2 v30's on the bottom and h30's on the top -- sounds wayyyy better then my Mesa 412 Oversized. HUGE difference. tlingen - thanks man! I'll be sure to upload some killer pics and tone clips once she arrives |

People need to be more specific when talking about mesa cabs. the nitro will sound fine through a traditional rectifier cabinet but most likely like ass through a standard rectifier cabinet.
(traditional rectifiers are also called stiletto cabs)

It depends on how the amp was ordered. They have a few headshell styles. The dimensions are all on their web site.
