Hi, Just had to share some eye candy (attached). I called Splawn and asked if they could make a 4x12 slant that matched my striped Nitro head. Scott said nooooo problem, and the surcharge was about what I pay for coffee and donuts every month, so I went for it. This thing looks mesmerizing and it sounds better than any rig I've ever played. I don't know what magic dust Scott sprinkles on his preamps but it even sounds better at low volumes than my 6 watt practice amp. Right now it's a bit of a Frankenstein with all my left over Celestions in it (bought it unloaded) - one G12h, two V30s, and a G12m. It still sounds killer. I'll fine tune it when I have some more dough(nuts) Attachments:

Looks cool. It's like the A-Team amp.
For recording purposes, I'd be quite happy with a 4x12 loaded with an assortment of speakers — so nice to have those tonal choices available just by pointing the mic at different speakers — but I can see how in the room or playing live you might want something less muddled. Anyway, enjoy!

I have the same setup on my pro mod except I have white instead of red. I love the coloring you have though.

Well I borrowed some Celestions from friends and decided that the sound I like is the "X" pattern: 2 X G12H and 2 X V30 diagonally placed. If you've never tried it - do it; you get the high-end bite of the V30 and the low-end thump of the G12H nicely balanced. Although my "Frankenstein" combo of Celestions sounded great, this set up sounds better. A 4xV30 sounded a bit brittle to me, but V30s definitely grabbed my attention. A 4xG12H had plenty of bass but lacked treble. Combining them gave me a sound that's balanced and easy to EQ. I really dig the G12m (my 2x12 is G12ms), but for my Nitro stack a 4xG12m didn't sound as good as the "X" pattern. The "X" pattern was more articulated at the same distortion levels. I just need to buy another G12H to complete my stack. The G12H I have is made in England. Does anyone have an opinion on Chinese vs. English G12H?
