New Car Day!!! My wife and I just pick up our first FREE car from Mary Kay. Brand new 2010 Chevy Malibu! My wife is awesome and I'm so proud of her. I know what your thinking...where's the pink Cadillac, well that is two more cars away. So by the end of this calender year we'll have the Cadi!!! I just pick her up this weekend from Curt aka Chubtone. A brand new Splawn Quickrod. Man does this thing rip. I love the tone, love the craftsmanship, and love the look. I can't say enough about this amp. That pissed off Marshall tone that I enjoy so much. This amp has such a good tone that I actually play the guitar for longer periods of time now because it is so good! Thanks Curt

Congrats! Love my QR too. Only complaint I ever had was the tolex on mine didn't seem to be glued down as well as maybe it should/could have been. It has separated at some of the corners of the head and cab and seems to not like the heat too much. The tolex on the cab has actually wrinkled at outdoor gigs (even though we were covered from direct sunlight) where the feet of the amp head sit on it. I can usually "iron" it out with the heel of my palm, but I've never had that happen with any other amp. Small sacrifice for the sound I get though!

congrats on the car and the amp . I can't imagine what it would be like to get a new car for free . Did you have to pay the taxes on it or did MK pick that up too ?

Nope didn't pay for anything. Should be getting the next car here in a couple months.

coincidentally - my wife just got a Malibu too, same color ...AND... my Splawn used to look just like yours except it had the gold colored rear panel.

now my amp looks like the one in my avatar.
