I change boost pedals like I change strings but the Flying Dragon is a must have. This is all the OD your Nitro needs. You can leave it on at all times...clean channel, dirt channel.....it does it all.

That pedal is bad to the bone! I love mine. Another pedal besides the Flying dragon that all splawners should own is John Evosevic's mod to the DOD pedal. Both those pedals never leave my board. They're both perfect with the Splawn.

ok im really curious...has anybody A/B'd the flying dragon alongside a maxon od808 on a nitro to see if there was any tonal difference? I currently have a maxon but have wondered about the flying dragon.

I have a Maxon od808 and it's a nice boost but it colors the tone a little bit and it adds some gain to the clean channel as well. I think the flying dragon is more like a clean boost so it doesn'T add gain at all on clean channel. I prefer my BB Preamp over any overdrive/cleanboost pedal. This pedal is so awesome. You can set it for clean boost only and/or use it as boost with a bit of gain. It's used by many artists such as Andy Timmons. Check Andy Timmons Youtube video about bb preamp.
I think it's better then the flying dragon and more versatile . My 2 cents.

I have a TS9 and the Xotic BB. I have the Xotic RC also.
The Xotic pedals are fantastic pedals but they have noticeably more compression than the Flying Dragon. That's not a bad thing I just don't prefer the amount of compression they have.
The Flying Dragon adds no tone coloration. It just gives you more of what you have.

I was very close to ordering a Flying Dragon when I spotted the Lovepedal Amp50 boost at one of the larger GC's here in SoCal. I managed to find a youtube vid of a guy running it into a hot rodded Plexi, thought it sounded pretty good, and decided to give it a try since I knew I could easily return it if I didn't like it. I do have a Keeley TS9DX but haven't tried any of the other pedals covered in this thread. But I will say... I really like this little pedal. If you spot one at your local GC give it a try. Set the Bias knob to around 8-9 o'clock and you get an excellent, uncolored clean boost that just seems to give my QR just a bit more mojo.

I have both pedals and can probably do a video of some kind with the Nitro. Let me know what kind of settings you'd like the Nitro to have and I should be able to put something together this weekend.
I have to say that I don't really use either pedal in front of my QR or Nitro as I prefer the amps straight up, but it'd be a good test for me also to check on the tonal changes.
