Just ordered a new cab from Josh Sage, should be here in a week or so. Can't wait. Specs: Hybrid slant, all SB25's, Black cab with cane grill.
I cant wait to hear it, since I have been playing through a mesa cab with v30's with my Quick Rod. I also have an Earcandy buzzbomb with Scholz sugarcones, but neither cab does justice for the Quickrod. (however they both sound great with my Engl SE 670).

Congrats! Love my straight 4X12 w/SB's. I tried my QR w/V-30 and Greenback loaded 4X12 cabs and the Splawn is hands down the best sounding cab of the three. Although, like you said... the other cabs sounded good with other amps, just not so good with the QR. The SB's seem to fit the QR like a glove!

I am really interested to see how the SB25's sound with the Engl as well. I Know that Engl is now offering thier pro cab with Greenbacks, so I assume it will sound pretty good. It sounds great with the V30's though.
If its better with the SB25's, I will sell my Mesa gear ( 4x12 and 2x12 recto cabs) and get another Splawn 2x12 with SB25's and put a few bucks in my pocket.
Kind of sad to see the last of my mesa gear go though. I have been playing Mesa since the early eighties when I got my first real half stack, the Mark III. still wish I had that amp.

Funny... I was a Mesa guy for years too, and my first Mesa amp was a MKIII head and 4X12 cab. I liked the separate EQ features that were added to the MKIV's but think the MKIII had a little better, less compressed sound. I think I bought that MKIII around '87 and played strictly Boogies (MKIII, MKIV's and Rectifiers) until about three years ago. Went through a Framus Cobra and an Egnater before finding tonal nirvana with my QR.

Add me to the mesa Boogie list as well. I played a Mesa MK2C from 1989 until 2005 when I got my QR.

Yep, I did the MkIII fully loaded with the 2 EL34 and 2 6L6, it had a great tone. Then did the quad preamp and a strategy 400, but got sick of replacing 12 power tubes every year! Then moved to a triaxis and a 2:90, added a rack mount recto to that rig (duh! right back to 12 tubes to replace every year), with a 4x12 and a 2x12. Finally ditched all that for the Engl Special Edition E670. I think the Engl is a cool cross between the Mark III and the Recto. plus its midi switchable so I could use all my existing rack gear and midi switcher. I bought a splawn on a whim after hearing some clips and was blown away by the unique tone ( at least different then the boogie stuff I was used too). But I need a new cab for this bad boy!!! I also want a Nitro. As you can see I have a problem.

Well got my cab today, and all I can say is WOW! It is amazing how much better my quickrod sounds with this thing. Also, I could not figure out why all the clips I heard sounded so much more saturated than what I was getting, well it was the speakers. The SB25's in this cab rule! I can not wait to get home from work and Jam for hours.
