I dig it. I don't use as much gain as probably many who select the nitro/supercomp do but I find that it delivers the more subtle tones just fine.

gain = between 10-11 o'clock position.
for "cleans" since this is a single channel unit i just use the neck pickup with the gtrs vol backed down to about 2 and no lights on the foot switch.
for vintage crunch: bridge pu + gtr vol at 6-7, no lights on footswtich
for harder overdrive sounds step on OD1 and then solos is the solo button.
keep in mind these are live stage volume settings where you can feel the cabs pushing air

I have always been a fan of using guitars with 2 volume knobs only on single channel amps. I like to set the neck volume a little low like you and just use the pu selector to switch between clean and dirty.
