How I never saw these guys live before is beyond me. Better late than never. Was a great show. Klaus's voice is still in perfect shape. I hope that decide to have another farewell tour.........
Great White opened. Holy sh!te are those guys in need of a nursing home. Mark Kendell was great. Awesome bitey tone and tasty playing. The band was horrendous though. Jack Russell looks like death warmed over. He had to use a cane and sit on a stool to get through the 6 song set they played. He was so Spinal Tap I felt sorry for them.

I was lucky enough to see them in the early 80's.....They were still doing Fly To The Rainbow then...WOW They kicked major butt...Bon Jovi opened for them and at the time they only had one hit....She's a little Runaway.....Scorps made Bon Jivee look like little girls....LOL

Saw them this past Saturday night at the Gaylord Arena in Nashville. Ratt was great, lean, mean, a lot of energy. Both Warren DiMartini and Carlos Cavazo sounded great. Hope they come back as a headliner somewhere close.
Sad to say, found Scorpions rather boring... WAY too long and mind-numbingly interminable drum solo... Drum solo featured backdrop video of James making out with a coterie of girls that would transform into some Scorpions album cover. It was a bit ridiculous and embarrassing, honestly.
Evidently James Kottak believes he is a drum celebrity of Carmine Appice proportions. Even had James Kottak T-shirts for sale, but didn't appear as though anyone was buying any.
We left on the "Winds of Change" encore. Too many ballads and although Klaus Meine sounded great, something was just missing. Kind of reminded me why I lost track of the Scorpions in the late '80s... Maybe it's just not my thing anymore and I was just reminded as to why. Sorry to report, just being honest.

Ratt absolutely killed it. Awesome tone coming from DeMartini and Cavazo, and Pearcy actually sounded decent. It was a no frills, balls-to-the-wall show, and they played their asses off. But I thought the Scorpions' set was pretty boring too. It started off OK, but once they played "Wind of Change" (they played it in the middle of the Memphis show and not the end), it seemed as if all energy just trailed off (seemed like they grouped all their slow songs in the middle). And that drum "solo" was agonizing. Yeah, I know they're old, but I thought it was pretty weak and ended up leaving before the encore. And a lot of the show was really gimmicky (smoke coming out of Rudolph's guitar, etc...). I did get some cool shots of Ratt though:

I just saw the show on saturday and i have to say i thought the Scorps rocked yes the drum solo was cheesy but the rest of the night was awesome. I thought they smoked ratt. Warren and Carlos did sound good but their tone was not even close to jabbs. It could have been a sound issue i guess. Ratt sounded muddy to me and really you could only hear the guitars clearly when they played their solos in the songs which did sound great.I thought the Scorps just sounded great all the way around everything was nice and clear and thumping, thick tones on the guitars and the vocals were awesome!!What a light show and the energy was high : )
