I lovemy ProMod but..ever since I got it.. it has had two issues.
1) Channel bleed. When I am on the clean channel as well its own tone controls..the treble and middle controlls for the second channel are also active. I have contacted Scott on many occasions and in the end he said it was a common fault and basically said to live with it.I am in Australia so I was pretty much given the cold shoulder on this. So..is this a common pro mod fault?
2) My clean channel sounds great but the overdrive channel sounds crap. Its the main reason for getting the amp.. and I hear the great overdriven tones from other splawns but on mine it sounds bad.I have good guitars and pick ups..there must be some reason for this??
has anyone else had these problems?
Thanks
Scott

Did you buy it new or used? If used... you may want to consider new PT's and maybe even preamp tubes as well.

Does it have the loop volume? If so... how are you running the channel master and loop volumes?

maybe a bad tube? I don't know about the channel bleed issue but is really an issue? I would look into replacing some tubes because my distortion channel sounds like the wrath of god.

Brother it is well known that Scott and the crew tests the amps before they are shipped... so I dont think the amp is a lemon... I think what may be the culprit is that the amp was shipped a long way and no matter how well the tubes are packed the bags of the road can throw off the performance and balance of a tube.. It sounds to me as you may have a "shipping banged up tube" . the vest way to check this without shipping the amp back is to buy some good pre amp tubes and power tubes "your gonna need them anyway way sooner or later so its not wasted money" .. the start by changing the preamp tubes.. and see how she sounds.. if its still shrill then try changing the power tubes... I am 99% sure based on my 42 years of pro experience that the tubes are the problem.. if not the ship the amp back for repair ... its not worth the aggreviation.. only God is perfect... all amps sometimes can develop faults... so just sent it back its cheaper in the long run...
But Im telling you if you change the tubes your problems will most likely be over... try it
