I have used the Wylde overdrive with my Nitro and QR for the last month. It's not true bypass and it is noisy as hell. I use a loopmaster so that I can turn the ZW pedal on as well as an ISP decimator with one switch. Th ZW is based on the boss SD1 which is a pedal I like but it is a bit thin even with Analogman mods.
I really like the ZW pedal but only with noise suppression and a true bypass box. Others hate the pedal and say it has too much gain and I agreed with that until I tried my current setup. Now I love the ZW.

I've tested the Maxon od808, the Xotic BB Preamp and the Fulltone OCD
The maxon is doing a great job but you have to change your amp settings because it's very bright and I have to turn on the resonance and turn off the presence. It also changes a bit the original splawn tone.
With the BB Preamp, it's like a clean boost so I can leave it on all the time either on clean/od1/od2 channels and it always sounds good. The BB is awesome for lead playing. Every single note have something special when the BB is on. It's like playing in 3D lol..
The OCD isn't as good as the BB preamp on boosting od1/od2 but I prefer it alot for adding a little overdrive on clean channel.
Overall, the BB preamp is the best for me. Transparency is the Key for the Nitro because it's an already pissed off amp by itself and doesn't need any Overdrive to add gain or tighten it up. On the other and, my Mesa Rectifier absolutely needs the OD808 in front to tighten it up. Both BB and OCD don't work as great as the OD808 with my Mesa Rectifier...

Stompbox get a modded DOD pedal from Outlier for your Splawn. It really is a great sounding OD and pairs perfectly with the Splawn amp. I use mine in both rock and country gigs. For rock gigs I turn the drive to about 10:00 and it really juices up the Splawn perfectly. For country I turn the drive all the way down to 7:00 and it works more like a clean boost. It's a killer pedal. I want another one! LOL!

I would not promote something I did not truly believe in. His pedal kicks arse! I love it. Anytime a pedal can serve two different types of tones and compliment them so well is a rarity! Get one! you won't be disappointed. |

im all for boosting any amp...as long as it's not too noisy. i know, big surprise. ;D
especially if it adds sustain. it's all in what makes you more comfortable.
i use a keeley TS9DX. great pedal

I got a guvnor2 in a trade and can't turn it off! Great EQ on the pedal, no spikes, pure tight fatness with no shrill top, awesome combo, GODSPEED!!!!
