I agree, sometimes cheap woods just sound cheap. I have that problem with my Mexi Tele Deluxe. I love the way it plays and feels and have upgraded everything possible but it still sounds a little cheap to me. The wood feels light and probably being coated in an inch of cheap lacquer doesn’t help either.
