Its been a while since i posted around here but im back in the family again, i owned a quickrod, comp and a nitro in the past and i was always a fan of scotts amps. i never owned a promod but i knew i needed to try one since i liked the qr and nitro, im hoping it will be like the qr but a little more modern like a nitro, im hoping its inbetween those 2 amps. heres a pic

You will love your ProMod. I run a ProMod and QuickRod in true stereo and there is a subtle difference between the two. I think you will find that it is kind of like between a Nitro and QuickRod. Not exactly but kind of in the middle there. It looks great man. Enjoy. I have to say though, half the battle is the right speakers. I found that all SB 25's get the tone and nuances I want and love. Those speakers match up very well with the QR and PM. Rock on bro.

Very small differences but the difference is just enough for me to own a Pro Mod over a QR. Both are amazing amps though. Chops, which do you prefer if you just ran both?

Thanks guys, I liked my qr more than my nitro. I'm looking for a qr type sound but with lower mid and not as much high mids.

I bought the QuickRod first and a couple months ago got the ProMod. I have to say that the ProMod "does" get a bit more of that lower mid thing going on than the QuickRod. Not too much but yeah, enough to make me like the tone of the ProMod just a hair better. Not better really but different I guess. You'll dig it.

Cool, I love both as well but the PM just suits my style a little better.

the qr mids was very in your face and at times bugged me, i should have the promod tomorrow and i think i will like it, the nitro was nice too and if the promod doesnt work out i will go back to nitro, i had el34 in my nitro but i would even try kt77 or kt88.

Yeah the Pro Mod has a little less of that in-your-face mids thing, which I like. I suggest trying Tung-Sol 6550’s in the PM, my fav so far.

Promod has alot of lows doesn't it. Seems like there's way more lowend than my comp with kt77 and qr. I'm using it with my uberkab right now and so far it sounds pretty good. The kt88 seemed to take out some of the overpowering mids that my qr had. It's a cool amp and is what I expected when I wanted something inbetween a nitro and qr.

Glad you like it. So would you say the nitro feels "darker" to you than the QR or PM? What do you think the main difference is? Less versatility? Do you feel the nitro has more bottom end or different type of bottom end if you know what I mean. I've never had the pleasure of playing a nitro so just curious since you have all 3.

I haven't had my nitro in a year but from what I remember I think it had more saturated gain and sounded darker, both amps have alot of lows but the nitro had lower mids. Promod is brighter sounding.
